BoMill continues to strengthen their position within high-speed precision sorting of grain. Building on past year’s success, the company recently signed an order with one of biggest privately held dealers of durum wheat in the world. The Italian company handles over 2,000,000 tons of durum a year and operates a number of grain terminals as well as semolina mills in Italy.

BoMill’s TriQ sorting equipment will be installed in one of the grain handling plants with the purpose of sorting out premium quality high vitreous durum wheat out of lots of uneven quality and thereby adding considerable value (and sales price) to the product along the value chain.

Following successful test sorting a first shipment will include an installation of a sorting solution with a capacity of 3 tons/hour. Fully installed the TriQ machines will have a sorting capacity of 18 tons per hour.

– Our technology is well proven in installations handling wheat and barley. Thorough pre-tests prove that the new installations in Italy will create truly value-adding solutions for durum as well, states Karin Wehlin, Managing Director at BoMill. This is a breakthrough for us as a company, even more it has the potential to be a big breakthrough for quality conscious companies within the durum industry, Karin Wehlin concludes.
